Welcome back to the Resilience, where we’re finally running before the wind and loving every minute of it. The weather could be better though. Here in Blighty it’s been rather miserable so far this year, and the weather forecast says it will continue like this for another month. Bleh. What’s it like in your little corner of the world?
This week, we have a lot of exciting news and some delightful morsels to share. So grab yer vittles, Messmate, and let’s dive right into the log. Here’s what we have in store for you today:
THE CAPTAIN’S QUILL
I know it’s June in the Big World now, but here on Quarterdeck we’re just about to step into May. If you were here at the beginning of the year, you may remember that I wrote a list of our goals for 2024. I said all of them more or less hinged on the major one being resolved. And it was! There may still be bumps in the road, and storms at sea, but now we’re turning that list of goals and…
OUR WIP APRIL – MAY 2024
I’m not on the queer spectrum myself, but have always had many close friends and family who are. So, when I moved to a highly conservative locale, I decided to install a flag pole by my front door and put a pride flag there. Over the years it has faded and gotten torn up so I’m replacing it this year. As I type this, I’m waiting on its delivery so I can put it out. Happy Pride Month!
WASTE NOT WANT NOT
I love standing by a stove and performing alchemy. Onions transforming from whatever the fuck raw onions are to the absolutely divine substance they transform into with heat and oil. Isaac Newton didn’t need to transform lead into gold to master alchemy, he just needed to get into the damn kitchen. And yet, many people, too many people…
TIME IS DYING, PART IV
Desperate to leave Germany, Jeremiah Jesus agrees to pay for food and petrol for a ride to Geneva, Switzerland. We learn that one of the guys is involved in an experiment with highly accurate atomic clocks. He explains how their discrepancies challenge the traditional linear concept of time, and the trio discuss science and culture before Jeremiah falls asleep…

All the Bell(e)s and Whistles
Time to bed down for the night and read my sweet bear a bedtime tale.
As we cuddle up for another read under the stars, it feels really good to be able to say we’ll be riding the waves again tomorrow. We have a full schedule in May, and if all goes to plan we will release two new books and two new merch items before the end of this month.
The next scheduled log, signed by our Ship’s Belle, will be released on Thursday the 16th. Two weeks later, we return with a special edition to cover all the bells and whistles we have added to the ship this year.
Now, before we pass the quill to Belle, it would be nice to hear what you are reading under the stars tonight. Hit reply or send us a dm and we might share some of your recommendations next time.
Until we meet again, whether at sea or on our socials, we wish you fair winds and following seas.
Tack & Hej,
