Home Sweet Home – Welcome to the Bear & Wench
Welcome back to The Bear & Wench, our guest house here in Libertalia. We returned for the weekend to restock, rest, and recover after our latest, rather eventful, expedition, but tomorrow we set sail again.
If you’re the kind of person who pays attention and has the capacity to remember random things, you may have noticed that this Ship’s Log was delayed. Or was it? Maybe I just gandalfed it to make sure it would bob into your inbox precisely when I meant it to? Read on, friend, and I’ll tell you the truth in my Quill below. But first…
Our meetings may take place in different locations, but the agenda is always more or less the same. We grab a snack and a (hot) beverage from Sir Bear’s kitchen, then we find a comfortable spot where we can read and discuss the latest entries in the log together.
Are you ready? Okay, let’s see then. Today, we have the following items on the agenda:
THE CAPTAIN’S QUILL
The Resilience is my spiritual home, and our Quartermaster is the home where my heart lives. That ought to be more than enough for a simple captain, but tragically, as Sir Bear would say, it is not. I do need a space to call my own on this peculiar island as well…

Don’t mind me, I’m just eating pears out of a can I found in the back of my cupboard. It looks like something a scrappy teenager in a video game scavenged from a post-apocalyptic shed and the flavor is flat, but they’re pears and I really like pears.

I love standing by a stove and performing alchemy. Onions transforming from whatever the fuck raw onions are to the absolutely divine substance they transform into with heat and oil. TIME IS DYING, PART IiI
When his homebound flight from Germany is cancelled, American linguist Jeremiah Jesus heads straight to a bar in the hopes of getting wasted and robbed. (Seriously!) He meets Matt and George, two guys on their way to see the supercollider in Geneva, and they agree to let him tag along if he pays for food and petrol along the way…

All the Bell(e)s and Whistles
Time to bed down for the night and read my sweet bear a bedtime tale.
As we cuddle up for another read under the stars, it feels really good to be able to say we’ll be riding the waves again tomorrow. We have a full schedule in May, and if all goes to plan we will release two new books and two new merch items before the end of this month.
The next scheduled log, signed by our Ship’s Belle, will be released on Thursday the 16th. Two weeks later, we return with a special edition to cover all the bells and whistles we have added to the ship this year.
