Milestones: 100 twitter followers

SO THIS HAPPENED…

YESTERDAY, I DECIDED to go on twitter to check if I had created an account for my fictional writer’s room. And I had. So, while I was there, I did some follow-backs, responded to a few messages, left a couple of comments and posted a few #ShamelessSelfpromotionSunday pieces to share my #WIP.

Having been awol since November last year, I was surprised to find I enjoyed it. And even more surprised when, at the end of the day, I had over 100 followers. I don’t know if I’ll ever be a social butterfly again, but I do want to share what I’ve been up to since I went into isolation.

I’ve said before that this os my pandemic panic room! A fictional writer’s room where I can dissect other people’s stories while I develop my own. It’s been my lifesaver over the past 500+ days of self-isolation, but it’s a far cry from what I had planned.

My goal for 2020 was to get my blogs off the ground. To put it bluntly, I need to find a way to make money from home, and I sit on a vast catalogue of written material. Non-fictional stuff I’ve produced, over a range of subjects, that I want to give away while it may still be of interest, or use, to someone else. I believe editing some of them into blog posts, and selling others, is the way to go. But it takes consistency to build blog readership, and that wasn’t possible for me in the midst of a pandemic. I needed something that required less brainpower.

This right here was my solution. My dream was to publish the boring, straight-laced stuff and build some kind of platform around that. Then I would be able to kick back and indulge in my creative writing. Something I’ve kept pretty secret and low-key over the years. But not anymore.

I decided to be brave and share my #WIP and talk about storytelling and writing from the safety of my panic room. That’s what this is all about. I have a place where I can read, watch and listen to stories. A place to pick them apart and try to figure out why they make me feel a certain way. And, on really special days, I even get to discuss it with you.

I’m so glad you’re here…

Love and Lust,
