TIME FOR A TIPPLE: RIVE SUD WITH SPARKLES
Time for a Tipple
One of my naughty escapes this month was a cheeky early-evening dash to a friend’s house, where I was introduced to a cocktail so magical, that it sparkles. Literally!
This little beauty is a tad more extravagant than my usual mixes, but well worth it if you fancy wowing your guests. And a big thank you to Jacqui, who certainly wowed me!
Rive Sud with Sparkles
Recipe* (Serves 1)
- 2 fingers of any good gin
- 1 finger of fresh lime juice
- 1 finger of lavender syrup (heavenly stuff!)
- A tiny pinch of green “luster dust” (New to me too! It’s edible sparkles, and you can buy it on Amazon.)
- 2 fingers of champagne, prosecco or cava
- Crushed ice
- Mint leaf, to garnish
Method
- Plop some crushed ice into the bottom of your champagne saucer and pour over the gin.
- Squeeze in the lime.
- Glug in the lime juice and lavender syrup.
- Sprinkle in the magic pixie dust, and give everything a good stir.
- Top up – gently – with the champagne etc (It fizzes! Sometimes quite a lot!)
A cocktail so full of magic it sparkles!
ABOUT F.K. MARLOWE
F.K. Marlowe is a Shropshire lass who lived in London and Beijing before settling down with her husband, three daughters and rescue pup in Vancouver. She writes horror stories with a tendency to the paranormal, and Young Adult fiction with fangs and sass.
Marlowe doesn’t worry overly much about the placement of semi-colons and the like, having spent far too long pootling about in academia to take them seriously. (She has an Oxford first in English Lit, plus a Master’s and PhD from Leeds). She has, however, discovered that life is the best education for a writer, and plans to continue her studies there as long as possible.
